As a completely hands-free double breast pump system, the Roam features a digital screen, specialized pro-designed pump modes, and a hygienic closed system. The rechargeable battery provides up to 90 minutes of pumping time, and the included lanyard adds extra portability. Yes. The Motif Roam is a hospital-grade hands-free breast pump with suction up to 280 mmHg, giving you powerful, efficient expression.

How many pumping modes does the Motif Roam have?

The Roam has four modes:
Massage (5 levels),
Expression (9 levels)
Cluster Feeding (5 levels)
General Pumping (9 levels)

What is cluster feeding mode?

This is a special mode designed by lactation consultants to help boost milk supply by mimicking a baby's cluster feeding pattern. It alternates between 7 minutes of stronger suction and 5 minutes of rest (low suction).

What is the General Pumping Mode?

This is an everyday mode that starts in massage mode to stimulate let-down and then automatically switches to expression mode after 2 minutes. This repeats twice for two letdowns.
Pro-Tip: Find your best level in Expression Mode first, then use that same level in General Pumping Mode.

How long does the battery last?

A fully charged Motif Roam battery lasts for approximately 120 minutes of pumping time.

Can I pump while charging my Motif Roam?

Yes, this is a key feature of the Roam. You can continue your pumping session while the unit is plugged in and charging.

How much breast milk do the collection cups hold?

Each collection cup holds up to 5 oz. of breast milk.

Is the Motif Roam BPA-free?

Yes. All Motif Roam parts that come into contact with breast milk are free of BPA, PVC, DEHP, and phthalates.

What kind of bra should I wear with the Motif Roam?

The best bra is a supportive, snug-fitting one (like an adjustable hands-free pumping bra) that can firmly hold the collection cups against your breast to ensure a good seal.

How do I find my breast shield size?

Finding the right fit is key. Use the included nipple ruler to measure your nipple first. The Roam comes with 28mm shields and 4 sets of inserts (16, 19, 21, 24mm) to help you customize your fit so your nipple moves freely without pain.

Can I use the Roam with traditional flanges instead of collection cups?

Yes. While this hands-free breast pump comes with our popular collection cups, you can easily use it with a standard flange and bottle setup.The Flange Resupply Kit is available to purchase separately.

What is the best way to pour milk from my collection cups?

PCarefully pour the milk from the built-in spout at the top of the collection cup into a bottle or storage bag. Do not store breast milk in the collection cups.

Cleaning & Troubleshooting

How do I clean my Motif Roam?

After each use, disassemble all parts that come into contact with milk (cups, shields, inserts, valves, diaphragms). Rinse in cool water, then wash by hand in warm, soapy water. Air dry completely on a clean towel. The motor and tubing should only be wiped with a dry cloth.

How do I sterilize my Motif Roam pump parts?

To sterilize, boil the clean, disassembled parts (everything except the motor and tubing) in water for 5 minutes. You can also use microwave sterilization bags or a steam sterilizer.

What do I do if I am having trouble with suction?

This is usually an assembly issue. First, check that the duckbill valve is firmly inserted and the silicone diaphragm is sealed around the edge. Second, make sure the collection cups are pressed firmly against your breast with a snug bra.

How do I properly seal the breast shield and collection cup?

Insert the collection cup's spout into the hole on the breast shield and press firmly until you hear an audible 'click'.
Both parts must be completely dry before assembly to prevent leaks.

Are the flange inserts labeled with size?

Yes, each insert has its size labeled on the outside of the flange tunnel. You may need good lighting to see it, as the number is the same color as the silicone.
