When can I get my breast pump covered by insurance?
You can qualify for a pump at any time during your pregnancy and up to one year postpartum. However, your insurance plan may have specific rules about when the pump can actually be shipped to you.

Is it possible to get a breast pump covered by Medicaid?
Yes, in most cases, a breast pump covered by Medicaid is a fully covered benefit. Because coverage rules can vary by state, we recommend using our insurance lookup tool to connect with a medical supplier who can confirm your specific benefits.

What is a hospital-grade breast pump?

What is the warranty on my Motif breast pump?
We stand by our products. Every Motif breast pump comes with a 2-year warranty on the motor and a 90-day warranty on all parts. To activate it, simply register your breast pump after you receive it.

My breast pump isn't working properly. What should I do?
We're here to help. Since a warranty covers your breast pump, please contact our customer support team via our contact form or by calling 844-272-8390. We will work with you to troubleshoot the issue or provide a replacement.

What is the difference between a closed and open system breast pump?
A closed system breast pump has a protective barrier that keeps milk from entering the tubing or motor. This is a critical safety feature that prevents mold and bacteria growth. For your peace of mind, all Motif breastfeeding pumps are closed systems.

What is the difference between massage and expression mode?
These modes mimic how a baby naturally nurses. Massage mode uses a quick, light pattern to stimulate your let-down (when milk starts to flow). Expression mode uses a slower, deeper pattern to express milk efficiently. For best results, always start your pumping session in massage mode.

What kind of flanges and bottles can I use with Motif breast pumps?

Each of our breast pumps comes with a kit that provides plenty of compatible accessories. We also offer replacement breast pump supplies and accessories (including milk collection containers, bottle converters, tubing, chargers, storage bags, breast shields, diaphragms, etc.) for all of our breast pumps.
